Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student:
- knows the basics regarding the organization of the different organs and systems of the human body.
- knows the configuration of the Central Nervous System.
Course contents
General: anatomical terminology. Definition of body planes and axes
Locomotor system: overview of the bones. Overview of the joints.
Cardiovascular system: Heart and pericardium- Small and large circulation- Coronary arteries- Notes on the course of the aorta artery and hollow veins.
Respiratory system: Overview of the nasal cavities, larynx, trachea and bronchi - Lungs and Pleures.
Digestive system: Overview of the oral cavity and major salivary glands - Stomach - Small intestine - Liver - Portal circulation - Pancreas - Large intestine.
Urinary system: kidney. Overview of the ureters and urinary bladder.
Male and female genital systems: Ovary. Overview of the uterine tubes, uterus and vagina. Testis. Overview of the spermatic pathways.
Endocrine system: Pituitary gland - Adrenal glands - Thyroid and parathyroid glands.
Central nervous system: Spinal cord - Brain stem - Cerebellum - Diencephalon - Telencephalon - Meninges - Main pathways of sense and motion.
Peripheral nervous system: Generalities on the cranial and spinal nerves.

Teaching methods
The course is divided into lectures in which plastic models of the various organs will be used.
Assessment methods
The exam that will ascertain the skills acquired consisting of an open question and nine multiple choice quizzes.
The result is graduated from 18/30 to 30L/30.
