Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student possesses the essential notions for a more in depth knowledge of the methodologies and diagnostic meaning of the biochemical parameters of greatest relevance for the profession of biomedical laboratory technician

Course contents

The program will cover the following topics:

- Notes on the organization of the analysis laboratory;

- The laboratory information system and innovative use techniques; - Main tests and determination techniques in clinical chemistry;

- Main tests, clinical applications and determination techniques in first level hematology;

- First and second level tests and their determination in the coagulation laboratory;

- Parameters and techniques for determining first level analyzes in the urine sector;

- Screening and follow-up exams with related determination technique in SOF tests;

- New approaches to analytical determinations, evolution of POCT (POINT OF CARE TESTING) systems.
