Learning outcomes
Basic course aimed at the conception, design and construction of architectural models. The aim of the course is to assimilate the theoric information through practical exercises that involve the testing of mainly manual techniques.
Course contents
The course aims to provide students with the basic skills needed to choose independently methods and technologies for the design and construction of architectural models.
The course is divided into a series of lessons in which will be illustrated some types of architectural model and their characteristics in terms of materials, techniques, technologies and tools used to create them, which can be tested in the practical guided exercises.
The course objective is to understand the value of the model as a tool for analysis and verification during the design process and for the communication of the project.

Teaching methods
Lectures and short individual ex-tempore exercises.
Practical exercise in the form of an atelier, aimed at the design and construction of an architectural model.
Assessment methods
In order to obtain the suitability, in addition to attending the cycle of lessons, the exercise proposed during the workshop is required: the realization of an architectural model with manual techniques and with the aid of machine tools
Teaching tools
For each lesson, the relative didactic material and the indications necessary for the progress of the exercise will be made available to the students.
It is foreseen the use of computer supports and equipment provided by the Degree Course and the Architectural Models Laboratory.
