Course contents
The experimental 'Quinta parete' ['Fifth Wall'] seminar lasts 30 hours, equivalent to 6 credits. It will take place from February to May 2025, with approximately one session per week.
The seminar is organised in collaboration with Emilia Romagna Teatri - Teatro 'Arena del Sole' and with 'Lo Spazio Letterario' ETS in Bologna.
The meetings will take place according to a calendar that will be communicated in time to the students enrolled through the 'Virtuale' web site, with times and venues to be defined.
The seminar is open to forty students enrolled in the Master's Degree in Italian Studies, European Literary Cultures, and Linguistic Sciences (code 9220).
The enrollment limit for the 'Quinta parete' seminar was reached on 16 September 2024. In the event of withdrawal by students already enrolled, a reserve list will be activated. Students interested in being placed on this list are kindly requested to send an email to the teacher before the beginning of the seminar.
The 'Virtuale' web page for the seminar will be available at the beginning of the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Comprehensive information regarding the schedule, meeting locations, and credit acquisition will be provided on that page.
Readings/Bibliography
Students, individually or in small groups, will be provided with a bibliography on a topic of their choice, to be agreed with the teacher towards the end of the seminar.
Some materials of general use for the seminar will be made available during the meetings on the "Virtuale" web site.
Teaching methods
Meetings - in the form of dialogues or listening sessions - with theatre companies, authors of poetry, prose, experimental and installative writing, and popular music.
The meetings will take place in various venues: classrooms, and rehearsal or performance spaces provided by Emilia Romagna Teatri at the 'Arena del Sole' theater and at the 'Teatro delle Moline' in Bologna.
Assessment methods
Students wishing to obtain 6 training credits must submit a short written essay (25-28000 characters, including spaces) on a topic of their choice, to be agreed with the lecturer, related to the theme of one or more meetings with actors and directors, poets, experimental writers and songwriters scheduled between February and May 2025.
Students who, for reasons related to disability or specific learning difficulties (DSA), need compensatory or dispensatory aids are invited to contact the relevant office.
