Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, the student:

  • possesses the basic analytical tools for understanding the behavior of the economic system as a whole,
  • knows the fundamental theoretical models for macroeconomics and the empirical evidence supporting their interpretative capacity of economic reality,
  • can apply theoretical models to solve macroeconomic problems,
  • understands the relevant aspects of the current political debate on major economic issues (stabilization policies, growth limits, international constraints),
  • can evaluate the benefits and costs of economic policy measures.

Assessment methods

Written exams. During the course, there will be partial exams (one mid-term and one at the end of the course) in addition to the final exams.

If the university regulations require that exams be conducted remotely, the structure of the written exam will remain as described above. In this case, the written exam will be conducted via Zoom and Esami Online (EOL). Detailed instructions on how to take and submit the online written exam are available on the course's dedicated space on the VIRTUALE platform.

The maximum score obtainable by providing all correct, complete answers with an adequate level of formal rigor is 30 with honors. Grading scale:

<18 insufficient

18-23 sufficient

24-27 good

28-30 very good

30 with honors excellent
