Learning outcomes
The student has an in-depth knowledge of the linguistic and discursive aspects of the Japanese language in both a synchronic and diachronic perspective, also in its applications in the field of intercultural mediation. Through practical exercises, his communicative skills in all abilities, active and passive, progress towards level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference corresponding to level N2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) organized by the Japan Foundation, which makes him able to effectively interpret the socio-linguistic and cultural codes of the subjects involved in a communicative relationship.
Course contents
The course will be divided into three distinct moments: 1. Introduction to the theory of audiovisual translation with a focus on Japanese as a source language and, in particular, on interlinguistic subtitling strategies; 2. Translation workshop with presentations in the classroom, moderated by the teacher; 3. Language module with study of the manual in collaboration with prof. Arakawa.
