Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows the materials used for the functional bandage and the principles for their use in the main neuro-musculoskeletal pathologies. Acquires skills in the packaging of the most commonly used functional bandages

Course contents

  • Indications, contraindications and limitations of functional bandage and neuromuscular taping
  • Choice of materials and design criteria
  • Types of functional bandage depending on the pathology and the area affected, or depending on the function.
  • Purpose of bandaging in muscle, joint, tendon problems.
  • Basic shapes: spiral turn, helical turn, figure eight, palisade figure, braided figure, butterfly figure or 'x' system.
  • Compression bandage, therapeutic bandage, preventive functional bandage, taping.
