Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must possess knowledge of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, imaging diagnostic tools, pharmacological and interventional therapy of diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Course contents

  1. Cardiovascular physical examination.
  2. Diagnosis of chest pain.
  3. Cardiovascular risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
  4. Diagnostic cardiovascular imaging techniques.
  5. Electrocardiogram (ECG).
  6. Cardiac arrhythmias.
  7. Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
  8. Acute and Chronic Heart Failure.
  9. Valvular heart diseases.
  10. Myocarditis, Pericarditis and Endocarditis.
  11. Pulmonary embolism.
  12. Pulmonary hypertension.
  13. The technical-assistance role of the nurse in the ward, intensive care and outpatient clinic.
  14. Cardiomyopathies.
