-
from Mar 03, 2025 to May 06, 2025
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is able to: acquire the main elements of knowledge on the problem of satisfying energy needs Know and be able to describe the diagrams of the main types of motor systems and their main components Know the main types of compressible and incompressible fluid operating machines and their operation Know how to carry out short calculations relating to the determination of thermodynamic properties or elementary balances.
Course contents
The introduction to the course explains the fundamental definitions for the analysis of environmental and energy systems.
Subsequently, the energy supply systems are described to understand and be able to describe the schemes and environmental impacts of the main types of energy plants or infrastructures.
In the next part of the course, the energy demand and consumption systems are described, in reference to the production, civil and transport sectors.
At the end of the course, the student is able to understand both the main elements of analysis and control of the environmental impact determined by energy plants-infrastructures and the problem of satisfying energy needs. Furthermore, the student is able to carry out short calculations relating to the determination of thermodynamic properties, environmental impacts or elementary energy balances.
