Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has a preparation that allows him to formulate a treatment plan and carry out a dental hygiene treatment in causal therapy and supportive therapy in patients with fixed and removable prostheses and with implant-prosthetic rehabilitations. The student also has advanced knowledge of the manual and ultrasonic instruments most suitable for patients with fixed or removable prostheses and with implant-prosthetic rehabilitations. In particular, the student is able to: Analyze the data collected to identify the patient's primary and secondary prevention needs Evaluate and calculate the risk level of caries with particular attention to the prosthetic elements Evaluate and calculate the risk level of relapses due to periodontal disease with particular attention to prosthetic elements and implants Formulate a dental hygiene treatment plan including educational, motivational and therapeutic interventions with particular attention to prostheses and implant-prostheses Identify the most suitable protocol and establish the number of treatment sessions non-surgical periodontal instrumentation in relation to the oral and systemic clinical situation of the patient and the type of prosthesis present. Know the advantages and disadvantages of manual and mechanical non-surgical periodontal instrumentation with particular attention to prostheses and implant-prostheses Carry out manual and mechanical non-surgical periodontal instrumentation with alternative instruments Re-evaluate the patient at the end of the causal therapy Draw up a therapy plan supportive periodontal therapy Determine the parameters to schedule the frequency of supportive periodontal therapy appointments.
