Learning outcomes

The module, which requires a quick recall and reuse of the knowledge of Surgical Anatomy and Applied Pathophysiology learned in previous years, aims to provide students with the definition and treatment of the main diseases of the gastroenteric system and endocrine organs. The course is conducted over 16 hours of lectures (2 ECTS) in close collaboration with the instructors of other modules (see Educational Objectives). By the end of the course, the student will have the skills and knowledge necessary for identifying the main mentioned diseases through the use of the correct diagnostic pathway, essential for their definition and for the correct surgical therapeutic indication.

- Diverticular disease

- Retroperitoneal sarcomas

- Gastrointestinal stromal Tumors (GISTs)

- Indications, techniques and short and long term complications of kidney trasplant

Assessment methods

The examination is oral and graded on a scale of thirty. The grade obtained in the individual modules contributes to the determination of the final grade for the Integrated Course.
