Course contents
TRANSMEDIA AND CROSSMEDIA
The 30-hour workshop will take place in Laboratory 2 (computer room) with access from via Zamboni 34
Starting from September 19th, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm, until October 25th
The laboratory will provide comprehensive training on the world of audiovisuals and the main audiovisual production techniques, both in relation to the different media and to the possible destinations of the product.
Tools will also be provided both from a practical point of view, for the creation of crossmedia and transmedia content, and analytical, for the use and understanding of the basic elements of audiovisual language in a transmedia key.
In parallel with the more theoretical introduction, with the help of the teacher ample space will be dedicated to the practical dimension of the laboratory. With the request to design some products of a transmedia nature, collectively or individually, which will be analyzed with the teacher and will constitute material for the exam.
The following topics will be addressed during the course:
• transmedia approach to entertainment
• design and production of transmedia products
• transmedia storytelling
• storyworld
• transmedia architectures
• analysis of particularly significant cases in transmedia production

Teaching methods
The course includes an introductory theoretical part and a practical laboratory part.
The course includes lectures with the support of slides, audiovisuals, digital sources, shared materials. Furthermore, the course will host meetings with experts in the transmedia sector, providing moments of vision and analysis of specific cases.
The laboratory part will see the work of creating crossmedia and transmedia products.
Assessment methods
The final evaluation will derive in part from the realization of a transmedia or crossmedia project on freely chosen themes, which contains fundamental design elements.
The project constitutes 50% of the overall evaluation of the exam.
The other 50% comes from a 15-question multiple-choice test on the two texts adopted.
Teaching tools
Projections, computer exercises, interventions by experts from the various sectors of transmedia, analysis of case studies.
