Learning outcomes
By the end of the laboratory the student: is able to use some of the concepts he/she came in contact with, by applying them to specific contexts and experiences; by select reading he/she has some knowledge of the discipline-specific vocabulary and is able to use it in his/her written assignment.
Course contents
The aim of the workshop is to provide students with concrete tools for listening, analysing, criticising and describing contemporary musical works using appropriate vocabulary.
Part of the workshop will focus on the selection of a group of musical works and related readings. Through collective discussion and analysis, we will produce short critical notes on the selected case studies.

Teaching methods
Lecturing, group work.
Assessment methods
Paper assignment. The paper can deal either with one of the study cases examined during the lessons, or with a case study identified by the student and previously discussed with the teacher. It should be sent to the teacher via email two days before the chosen exam call.
The paper may be substituted by participation in one of the classroom exercises.
