Assessment methods:
The oral exams take place nine times during the year. The student may check the exam dates on Alma exams.
Please note that, in order to protect the rights of all students, the order of application form for oral exam candidates cannot be altered by the Commission.
C) For all students, a written examination is held, which takes place four times a year (January, March, May, September) for the purpose of verifying the language and literary competences.
The written test consists of carrying out a theme. Students are offered the opportunity to choose a track from different titles touching specific problems and authors of the history of Italian literature from the beginning to the twentieth century. There are no additional texts for the preparation than those already mentioned in the institutional part of the program. At the written test you can only bring the vocabulary of the Italian language.
The outcome of the written exam (passed/not passed) will be published online on Alma Exams. The student will be able to see his corrected work only at the reception.
The written exam dates are not set by the Professor, but by the Department and only at the end of each appeal. The Professor will enter those dates from time to time in Alma Exams.
Method of assessment
The assessment of knowledge and skills acquired by the student is divided into two phases: a pre-written test on specific topics of the program and an oral exam to verify the general preparation of all the subjects of the course.
The written test must meet the criteria of correct spelling, morphological, syntactic and semantic rules, expressive clarity and synthesis skills, and contain, where possible, considerations arising from the personal elaboration of the student.
The oral test consists of an interview aimed at evaluating the critical and methodological abilities matured by the student, who will be invited to discuss the program texts. The student must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the bibliography indicated in the program.
Excellent mares will be granted to students who manage to have an organic vision of the themes discussed on the lessons along a critical use, who demonstrate expressive mastery and specific language.
Mostly mnemonic knowledge of the subject, incomplete synthesis and analysis skills and a correct but not always appropriate language will lead to discrete evaluations.
Approximate knowledge, superficial understanding, poor analytical skills and inappropriate expression will lead to judgments between sufficient and little more.
Lack of training, inappropriate language, lack of orientation within the bibliographic materials offered in the program will only be evaluated negatively.
