Learning outcomes

The course is designed to provide a broad introduction to topics and industries that current researchers are studying as well as to expose students to a wide variety of techniques. It will start the process of preparing students to conduct research in the area. The course integrates theoretical models and empirical studies.

Theory of the firm; Monopolistic markets and their Regulation; Oligopoly; Price discrimination; Product Differentiation; Advertising; Entry and entrepreneurship; Industrial and competition policy
