Learning outcomes

The objective of this course is to discuss firms' financing and investment decisions in a perspective of shareholder value creation. At the end of the course students will be able to: (1) evaluate investments; (2) calculate a firm's cost of capital; (3) select among different financing sources.

Course contents

Financial Planning; Capital budgeting (NPV, IRR); Portfolio theory and CAPM; Financing decisions and market efficiency; Seasoned equity offers, IPOs and venture capital; Dividend policy; Optimal capital structure; Interaction of investment and financing decisions
