Learning outcomes

followuing this course of anatomic pathoroutine logy the student becomes confident with a pathology report and can understand the results of the most common diagnostic tools as histology immunohistochemistry

Course contents

techniques in anatomic pathology: special stains, immunohistochemistry, gross examinations, preparation of frozen section and of sections from paraffin block

applications of molecular biology techniques in anatomic pathology routine

acute and chronic flogosis

hyperplasia, displasia, neoplasia

concepts of carcinoma in situ and incipient neoplasia

genetic basis of neoplasia

growth and diffusion of neoplasia

grading and staging of neoplasia (concepts)

oral pathology (neoplastic, reactive and autoimmune diseases)

salivary glands pathology (reactive and neoplastic)

respiratory system pathology: larynx, lung (diffuse pneumopathy and cancer) and upper tract

ear pathology (most common disease of the ear)
