Learning outcomes

The target of the course is to provide to students the knowledge allowing them to understand the management of operative processes in public and private organizations.

In particular the course will analyse concepts such as flow, renewal, planning and structures addressed to processes management.

The business case study will have the main purpose of providing a deepening of the recent applications of technologies in the operative processes management.

At the end of the course the student will be able from one side to understand the collocation of operative processes in theoretical and applicative aspects and from the other to analyse the processes of organizations and place them in the filed of the most recent theories on logistic networks.

To integrate the conceptual and applied material the primary course material will be a series of cases illustrating practical implications of Theories. Students will also use complementary readings and lectures that will supply concepts and frameworks.

Course contents

The contents of the course will be:

First Module (20 hours) – Prof. Bianchi

  1. Collocation in the managerial and organizational problematics. The logistics function: flows and the storage management and the production. The case CAPRARI.
  2. The logistic systems in push and in pull.  The management Just in time and  MRP
  3. The renewal system of stocks and products and the index system. Medium permanence, turnover and variation index. Exercise
  4. The analysis of management timing. Procedures and processes. The network planning. Exercise.
  5. The planning of the production: mobile average and esponentianl average. The calculation of production lot. Exercise
  6. Tools to evaluate the progress state of projects. The method Earned Value. Cases and exercise.
  7. The Man Power Planning and the harmonization  of workload.

9.  Performance system and performance indicators

10. Organizations of processes in project management. Conclusion of the course

Teaching methods

Frontal lectures together with seminars and cases analysis.

Assessment methods

Written test (composed by open questions, multiple choices and exercises).

To do the exam is required to be enrolled through the procedure online, in compliance with
mandatory deadlines.

The vision of the test and verbalization takes place on the date set and indicated in Almaesami.
