Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will have the competence to define trading strategies  based on the costruction of financial market scenaries, In particular, the student is able to: analyse the dynamics of financial time series by combining the basic principles of technical analysis (graphical approch) and sentiment analysis - to use the quantitative approch by statistics, with particular attention to the costruction of indices and statistical indicators - so, to use the results obtained in operational strategies through their combination in trading system.

Course contents

Lectures begin in the first semester 2014/2015. It will be developed in three parts: first descriptive, second technique and third pratical.
The aim of the course is to enable the student to take knowledge of the technical analysis and potential of the same to predict finanzial markets. Il offers a pratical aspect of the work of a financial analyst, trader, financial advisor o money manager.
PART 1  What techical analysis is;   Financial market and economic cycles;   The Dow Theory; The various types of grafhics;   The big traders.
PART 2 Supports, resistences and trend;   The figures of continuation or exhaustion;   Moving averages;   Momentum indicators.
PART 3   The right time frame for trading;   The trading system;   The psicology in trading;   Money management for profit and loss

Assessment methods

The final exam will be done with a multiple choice test and analysis of a graph
