Learning outcomes
Linguistic skills to be achieved: the student is able to use different linguistic structures, i. e. he can change direct speech into indirect, he is able to use the proper tenses: present, past and future. He can infere new words from the communicative context without using the dictionary, he can produce brief commentaries about texts he has read or heard.

Course contents
Aim of the course is the study of the so called “Francophonie”, “Literatures- world of French language”, both as political and cultural entity. The student will achieve specific tool for the analysis of the ideological discourse, through the study of the prescriptive and descriptive norms, and of the main linguistic functions (phatic and expressive).
The program is twofold. Firstly, students will learn the main structures of Francophonie as an organization. Secondly, students will examine some examples of/on Francophonie through the discourse analysis.
Teaching methods
Through the discourse analysis and focusing on the linguistic patterns of ideological discourse, it will be possible to recognize the linguistic structures of the discourse of/on Francophonie
Assessment methods
The final exam is a written test on the main structures of Francophonie. The students will demonstrate their knowledge of linguistic and formal structures of the ideological discourse.
Teaching tools
The analysis will be carried on some of the main protagonists of Francophonie: François Mitterand, Lépold Sédar Senghor, Habib Bourguiba, Stélio Farandjis.
