Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is is to provide the basic instruments to solve actuarial problems. Principles of insurance mathematics are introduced and applied to organize basic life insurance contracts, and tecniques of financial management of premiums are illustrated. Non-life insurance is also covered, if possible.

Teaching methods
Classroom lessons. Theoretical problems will be best understood through the use of several examples.
A limited level of financial and probabilistic knowledge is assumed at the start of the course.
Assessment methods
Written examination about theory (open questions) and practical exercises.
