Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows elementary notions of algebra, like Euclid algorithm and congruences
and of linear algebra. The student can solve linear system and diagonalize linear applications.

Course contents

Induction principle and definitions by recursion. Arithmetic and congruences. Euclid algorithm. Linear systems and geometrical interpretation. Operations on matrices and determinants. Solution of linear systems. Real vector spaces. Basis and dimension. Linear maps, kernel and image. Characteristic polynomial and diagonalizability of linear maps.
