Learning outcomes

The student will be able to understand the relationship between  a firm goals, strategies, structure, organisaton and management. The student will also familiarise with the main business models and business organisation typologies, the intra and inter-firm relationship, the business efficinecy measurements and the agrifood system structure, organisation and dynamics affecting its efficiency.

• Case studies: agro-food companies
• Busines Management 
• Management and monitoring tools
• Exercises on agro.food companies management and performance monitoring; use of ITCs
• The enterprise external relations: integrated logistics/supply chain analysis and management/companies clusters and agro-food districts
• The agro-food system a critical analysis

Teaching methods

Traditional lessons providing basic knowledge and analytical tools
Meetings with professionals, workshops and problem solving exerxises to evaluate the capacity of the students to process the information and use it.
Debates on the main issues emerged during the course to provide an insight into the students analytical skill and creativity.

A written test with multiple choice and open ended questions
