Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students knows and understands the
principal explanatory theories of the Psychology of the Human
Resources respect to the practices of scholastic-professional
guidance and the typologies of guidance activities and counselling;
- he knows and understands objectives and methods of the
professional activity of the psychologist within the Human
Resources during the whole working career; - it is able to
delineate a project for the organizational management and the
inherent managerial practices the profession of work psychologist
especially in the contexts of the job, of the organizations and of
the human resources; - it is able to delineate a strategy of
promotion and marketing of the profession especially in the
contexts of the job, of the organizations and of the human
resources.
Course contents
This course ( 8 ECTS) is functionally composed of two parts (each
of 4 ECTS):
The first part: Fundamentals of Human Resources
Psychology (Marco Giovanni Mariani)
The second part: Counselling and Career Guidance
(Vincenzo Sarchielli)
The course pursues the general objective to introduce the students
to the study of the processes implicated in the heterogeneous
activities of management of the personnel by their entry,
permanence up to the different forms of separation and contextually
to introduce the students to the study of the psychological and
social processes which are kept in consideration in the
contemporary activities of scholastic and professional
orientation. The course articulates in two parts.
The first one furnishing a picture of scientific technical
reference regarding the activities of management of the human
resources used by the public and private enterprises. The
second focuses besides particularly on the analysis of the
theories and the approaches adopted in the activities of scholastic
and professional guidance and on the analysis and experimentation
of the present different activities of guidance in the scholastic
and formative systems, in the services for the job, in the
specialistic services and in the enterprises.

Teaching methods
Didactic methods that will be used to improve knowledge are:
lecture & questions, group work assignments and exercises,
small group discussion, student oral presentation, student paper
and student reading. Expert practitioners will be invited to
present cases.
Assessment methods
Tasks and assignments will be of the following kind:
- Knowledge examination (open and closed questions about curse topics)
- group tasks concerning analysis and discussion of case studies, or design of intervention,
- individual (or group) tasks concerning analysis of empirical papers.
