Learning outcomes
Course contents
The course is composed in two parts. In a first part the focus is on the sociologists (classic and contemporary: Marx, Weber, Durkheim, Simmel; Chicago School, Goffman, etc.) and on theoretical approaches. The second part develops the general arguments of the discipline: family, socialization, deviance, religion, social inequalities, education, etc.), taking into account the empirical researches connected to social analysis.

Teaching methods
Frontal lessons
Students who attempt the course are invited to produce -alone or in a small groups- an empirical research (film analysis, interviews, research based on data bank, observation, etc.). Best works will be presented to the classroom.
Assessment methods
Examination consists in a written test (2 hr.). For the student who attempt the course and decide to work on empirical research, the final vote will take into account this addictional aspect. Oral examination is facultative.
