Learning outcomes
The course should allow learning on the use of analytical techniques in the quality control of drugs. In particular the course is focused on the use of separation and spectroscopic techniques.
Course contents
HPLC analysis of amino acids mixture: development of the separation method and quantitative assay. Enantiomeric excess determination by enantioselective HPLC and CE analysis. Separation of peptides by CE. Determination of the enzymatic activity of acethylcholinesterase: Km e Vmax determination. Enzyme inhibition assay: IC50 determination. Quality control of a biotechnological drug by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
Readings/Bibliography
Description of the experimental part related to the laboratory program.
Teaching methods
Laboratories
Assessment methods
This course, together with "Pharmaceutical Chemistry" and "Analysis of Biotechnological Drugs", constitutes the integrated course (C.I.) "CHEMISTRY AND ANALYSIS OF BIOTECHNOLOGICAL DRUGS". The final exam, related to the entire C.I., is oral.
