Academic Year 2008/2009

  • Docente: Carlo Bertucci
  • Credits: 2
  • SSD: CHIM/08
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Biotechnologies (cod. 0090)

Learning outcomes

The course should allow learning on the use of analytical techniques in the quality control of drugs. In particular the course is focused on the use of separation and spectroscopic techniques.

Course contents

HPLC analysis of amino acids mixture: development of the separation method and quantitative assay. Enantiomeric excess determination by enantioselective HPLC and CE analysis. Separation of peptides by CE. Determination of the enzymatic activity of acethylcholinesterase: Km e Vmax determination. Enzyme inhibition assay: IC50 determination. Quality control of a biotechnological drug by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
