Learning outcomes
The course analyzes the relation between fiscal and monetary policies on the one side and the performance of the economy on the other from the point of view of both real and financial markets. It will explore the mechanisms that determine the main macroeconomic variables such as the level of economic activity, the interest rate, the unemployment rate, the inflation rate and the exchange rate. The aim is to develop a unitary framework to interpret the macroeconomic environment as a support to strategic business decisions.

Assessment methods
The final evaluation consists in a compulsory written exam. Those who are not satisfied with their grade may repeat the written exam, during one of the next sessions, under the provision that the new grade automatically replaces the old one. The grade must be recorded on the official dates of registration within the same session of the written exam. A midterm exam is available during the lecturing period.
