The document reflects the commitment of the University of Bologna towards the promotion of open, responsible and high-quality research. The guidelines complement the University Policy on Research Data Management, putting Goal 31 of the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan into practice.
Objective
The guidelines aim to support the academic community through all phases of the research data life cycle.
They are a practical tool for assisting researchers in the adoption of data management best practices, in accordance with FAIR and Open Science principles.
Structure
The document is organized in two parts: the first runs through the different phases of the data life cycle, identifying key points to be addressed during the research activity; the second part consists of a series of fact sheets delving into the most specific topics.
Support
The University of Bologna provides researchers with the support of data stewards, namely research data management experts who combine their own expertise with other competence areas available at the University (on privacy, intellectual property rights, institutional data repository AMS Acta, and more). They are the unique point of contact for any research data matter (aric.datasteward@unibo.it).
