Size: 800 volumes, 1,200 magazine issues and abstracts. The collection also includes 6,000 slides with images of fortifications taken by Palloni and digital material he collected. Much of the material in the collection contains ex libris by Dino Palloni with a printed motto and his handwritten annotations.

Historical-biographical profile: Dino Palloni was born in Cesenatico (Forlì-Cesena) in 1945 and died in 2012. He was a civil engineer, a passionate scholar of fortified architecture, and a historian of military buildings and castles.
