Full Professor of Geomatics (academic discipline: Surveying and Mapping) since 2002 at the University of Bologna, Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM).
The prevailing research interests are aimed at Geomatics applications with integration of systems and sensors, surveying and representation for Cultural Heritage, Earth Observation and satellite Remote Sensing for environmental monitoring (e.g. subsidence, risk management, urban and environmental studies), application of 3D technologies at different scales in multidisciplinary researches, historical cartography in the digital environment, GIS.
Engaged in a number of national and international research projects, he collaborates with various public and private institutions.
Author of more than 350 international and national publications. H-Index (Scopus): 24.
